| | Dhaka, Jan 9 (bdnews24.com) — Opposition leader Khaleda Zia has said the ruling alliance has established a reign of terror in the country in the last two years. "No one is allowed to speak up against their (alliance government) misrule," she said in her speech to the nation at 4pm on Sunday. The former prime minister mainly evaluated the government's last two years of activities. The opposition leader delivered her speech through reporters from her Gulshan office, two days after prime minister Sheikh Hasina addressed the nation on Thursday. Hasina, in her speech, claimed success in two years of her government and asked the people for more time, saying her administration is trying. Khaleda rejected Hasina's speech saying it did not reflect the country's real scenario. "Though the prime minister spoke much [about her government's achievements], no such development activities were seen in the last two years." The prime minister urged the people to compare the tenure of BNP with the Awami League's. Khaleda also presented comparative figures of prices during her governments and of Awami League's. "There is nothing to say much, I think. Countrymen can see [the prices] when they go to the market," she said. In the opening of her speech, she focussed on 'torture' and 'harassment' of journalists. She alleged that the government is continuing the process of preventing other opinions and criticisms through the detective agencies.
